Surfers Paradise Rugby Union Club, fondly known as “The Dolphins,” is a vibrant and passionate rugby community based on the beautiful Gold Coast, Australia. With a rich history dating back to 1973, we are proud to be one of the oldest and most respected rugby clubs in the region.
Our mission is to promote and develop the sport of rugby union while fostering a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship among our members. We believe in the power of teamwork and the bonds created on and off the field. Driven by our love for the game and a commitment to its growth, we are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive environment where players of all ages and skill levels can come together to enjoy the thrill of rugby.

Established in 1973, Surfers Paradise Rugby Club has a rich history of excellence in the world of rugby. Our journey began in the Brisbane centred competition, and by 1978, we embraced a new era as the Gold Coast & Districts Rugby Union competition was inaugurated.
Proudly, Surfers Paradise boasts an unparalleled record as the premiers for the initial 8 years of the Gold Coast rugby competition. We’ve consistently cultivated top-tier talent, with numerous Surfers Paradise players participating in the prestigious Queensland Country competition. Even today, we continue to contribute players to the country competition and various representative teams.
Surfers Paradise is not just a local legend; we are a global hub for rugby excellence. Our world-class facilities have played host to visiting teams from around the world, who choose our grounds for training and matches, ranging from club-level games to the prestigious Super 14’s. Additionally, we are honoured to be the host club for the biennial Pan Pacific Masters Games rugby tournament.
